Baum began his illustrious career playing in Top 40 and R&B bands while a high school student in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His musical talents have since lead him to performances throughout the U.S., Japan, and
Canada.
Baum has lent his unconventional string bass techniques to a variety of groups over the years, including stints with: Zero, Pine Top Perkins, Johnny Adams, Lockjaw Davis, Sweets Edison, and Brenda Boykin.
A man of many talents, Baum also works from his studio as a composer, engineer, and producer for many of the Bay Area's top musicians.
In addition to filling out the Ensemble's rhythm section, he currently performs with Dan Hicks and the Johnny Nocturne Band.
